What place defines the word "PICTURESQUE"?
I have been everywhere in Europe but when I think of Zermatt, the word picturesque comes to mind. It feel like a fairlytale and every direction I look at feels like a postcard. What do you consider picturesque? Would absolutely be delighted to know other views.

Here's a less than obvious choice, especially if you're in the mood for something quietly picturesque: The rural parts of Counties Kilkenny and Tipperary, in Ireland. I spent several days last summer touring these parts and found it most attractive.

Enjoy.

I wasn't going to spend the time to respond to this, but I simply must. I would classify "picturesque" into 3 categories: (1)countryside (i.e., mountains, lakes, hills, no towns); (2)small towns; and (3) big cities. For my choices I would list:

-Countryside: nothing better than Soglio, Switzerland.
-Small towns: more difficult, but my choice is Montalcino.
-Big cities: most difficult, because there are so many aspects to consider. But my choice is Prague, just a few points ahead of Vienna.
