OK, while I very well understand that Glenn has ages ago done his Hungary trip (Hope he enjoyed!), I just cannot resist since this was brought to the top. Personally I found German to be the most useful foreign langiage while travelling in the Hungarian countryside. What I actually wanted to do here, was to make some little corrections to Polly Glots comparison of Hungarian and Finnish words: <BR> we= mi(H), me(F) <BR> you= ti(H), te(F) <BR> hand= kasi(H), käsi(F) <BR> alive= eleven(H), yksitoista(F) <BR> live= el(H), elää(F) <BR> see, look= nez(H), näkee(F) <BR> make, do= te(H), tekee(F) <BR> <BR>Not that it matters ;-)

Thanks. I don't actually know either language, as you might've guessed, although I've had some curiosity about Hungarian for a long time. I found the "information"--such as it was--in Bodmer's "Loom of Language" and in some websites via a fast search.
