Speaking of decoding messages, I'm finding "The da Vinci Code" almost as good at putting me to sleep as "Under the Tuscan Sun." Am I the only one? I don't know what's wrong -- I like Paris; I'm a da Vinci nut; I went to Catholic school; I love Tuscany; I've been through the house building and remodeling process; and I'm an avid reader. I really wanted to like both of these books. Hmmm...

It took me several false starts before I got into "Da Vince Code." Then I finished it in like a day.
I must admit, I favor non-fiction. Even with all the alleged factual info in this book, I can't stop thinking about who will be cast in the movie version.

If you want this thread to stop at 100 posts, I suggest that the 100th poster mentions the name of a so called French cookbook expert from Milwaukee with the influential husband. Fodor's will see to it that it ends there.

I also felt the same ways you do ..
I read Angels and Demons before reading the Da Vinci Code...
A&D always left me intrigued about the plot ,so much suspense, I could not put the book down...It was such a thriller!
The Da Vinci Code, did not have the mystery or the intrigue that the other book had, at least on me, and left me a little indifferent.
Although that is still is on the top of the Best seller list.
Roma, Firenze, Nizza..
