What does this message mean with a Rail reservation?

"We have been unable to successfully validate your journey for the following reason:
E00201 Service is restricted GW1116. Please try again selecting an alternative ticket or journey. "

I'm trying to book a sleeper on the Night Riviera First Great Western Train from London to Falmouth.

Also, does anyone know anything about booking a sleeper with a Britrail card? I've heard it's near impossible to do.

Thanks!

July 7. I'm practicing b/c I want to book for July 10. It's confusing b/c the website says they are booking through July 6. It appears they add 7 days each Friday. Yesterday, the site said on the home page that they were booking through June 26, yet I was able to book on July 6.

I'm very confused...and I'm usually pretty good at this stuff.

Whilst I hope you get a quick answer to your query on Fodors, I would also suggest you send a message to this person who is an expert on train travel in the UK.

I'm pretty sure it is because it's too early to book that date so it is an invalid request.

Google's a wonderful thing, I just got that exact same message, googled it, and ended up here. I'm trying to book a similar journey around 10th July. I think the 12 week booking period is technically open but as you say, maybe the sleeper reservations are released a whole week at a time. I'm going to try again at the weekend.

You can't book 'reservation only' trips by sleeper with a BritRail pass online. You need to do it in person or by phone.

See www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk

I was trying to book a ticket three months in advance and got this error message too. This is what their web team told me:

"We would request you to delete cache and cookies and then try booking your ticket using Internet Explorer."

I skipped the cookies step and just used my PC at work (with Internet Explorer). That worked a treat, and I got my ticket right away.

Good luck!
