What do you think of Civita di Bagnoregno?

Any thoughts on whether we should include Civita di Bagnoregno after leaving Orvieto on our way to Siena? What roads would you take to Siena, we prefer to make this portion of the drive as quickly as possible .

Civita is well worth a visit, one of our favorite hill towns, but try to go on a week day. It can be very crowded on a weekend when many Italians like to go there. Look at Rick Steves's Italy guide book for directions.

It is worth a stop although out of your way if going to Siena. Very interesting hilltown with sort of a ghost town quality about it. As you walk through town, you will see many elderly people beckoning you into their gardens to show you their view. They will then request a donation of a few Euro which supplements whatever income they have as the town survives on tourism.

I love it, too. And I love the restaurant right across the chasm from it, Hosteria del Ponte. Great food!!
