What do you bring back FROM the USA?

Just curious... I know when we travel to foriegn countries, there are certain things we make a point of bringing back with us (i.e tea from England.)

What do visitors from other counties like to bring back from the US?

I go outlet shopping and pickup small things for the house and realy good sheets. I also do shopping for "regular" clothes like gap jeans jumpers etc. ALso sports gear/wear has a better choice in the U.S. I find the U.S. styles in your average store a bit more conservative. I think the clothes can be a bit trendier in europe for all ages. Don't kill me for saying this!

We had a French exchange student stay with us last summer and she brought home (to the southwest of France) peanut butter! She said they didn't have it out there and her little sisters love it.

Here is my standard list.

Things we cant get here: Brown sugar, chocolate chips, Drano, Listerine, shampoo other than Nivea or Pantene, Jelly Beans, Twizzlers, Hot Tamales, Ziplock snack size bags, Nyquil and Sudafed, PAM cooking spray

Things that are so much less expensive in the US: Casual clothes - anything from the GAP or Victorias Secret, Clinique, CDs and DVDs, ibuprofin and aspirin, ink cartridges

Wish I could bring back some great US beef too...

Our Italian friend also brings back peanut butter. He can get Louisiana hot sauce in Italy, but not peanut butter!

I knew an Austrian lady that told me that she always, ALWAYS, brings back several bottles of good ole Jack, Jack Daniels that is back to her Austria.

True you can buy Jack Daniels everywhere in Europe, but it is expensive.

Who said that? She said that!

I imagine that there are many a person who includes good ole Jack as one of his-her runnin' buds.

I have seen many Euro travelers at the airports wearing brand spanking new white Nikes as well

I bring back Swiss Chocolates with me and other goodies.

My friend in London used to ask me to bring her:

Levi's jeans
Timberland shoes
MAC cosmetics

Now that she has a baby, I mail her baby clothes. According to her, baby clothes are outrageously expensive in London (especially compared to what I can get at Gap outlet stores).

About 10 years ago I worked in a retail store carrying mostly Levi's jeans, and probably 90% of our customers during the summer months were tourists mostly from European countries.

Drano is a chemical you dump into a clogged sink drain. It's supposed to eat the clog away so the water drains freely. (There's also some bizarre thing where a pregnant woman can put her urine on drano. The color the stuff turns is supposed to determine the sex of the unborn child. Go figure.)

Twizzlers and Hot Tamales are candies.

Twizzlers are a rubbery, strawberry flavor licorice stick. They're kinda chewy like gummi bears.

I've only seen Hot Tamales. I think they're a jelly-bean type capsule that are spicy and sweet.

Personally I don't care for either candy so if anyone wants to set me straigt especially with Hot Tamales, go right ahead.

And our friends in Germany asked us to bring foil pie plates (you know, the disposable kind).

Our German friends wish they could take home vats of Root Beer--It's heavy so they just drink it 24/7 while here--oh and bags of powder Margarita mix. I've also noticed them packing up over the counter medications/vitamins. Good question.

We have someone from mainland China married to a relative here. When she goes back to Beijing, she always take her mother cheeses and chocolates!

Queenie must live on a remote island somewhere. Only two types of shampoo and no listerine?

Egg, it's always a possiblity. I live on a remote island and I've hauled back Listerine and shampoo, among many other everyday things that most people take for granted. I can walk into a typical drugstore in the US and go nuts!
