lipstick & powder because if I feel pretty I can take on the world
comfortable shoes, even if they don't match
binoculars to see everything up close and personal

My 2 cents worth -
- for my news fix, my shortwave radio & a listing of the local Radio-Canada International frequencies/times (as only an hour a day) & local BBC International frequencies (at least its all day/all night)
- power adaptor
- camera
- facecloths
- toiletpaper

Someone on this board recommended individually packaged wet-naps and Shout wipes. Both came in really handy! Also travel-size bottles of hand disinfectant and body wash (good substitute for hand soap when there isn't any in a public washroom).
