What about VATICAN CITY?

I will spend four days in Italy (Southern preferred, as my final destination is Malta). I already visited Rome, it's worthwhile to spend a day at Vaticano? What about Sicilia? As I didn't travelled by train before, I would like to do it this time. How long will it take from Rome to Messina? Any suggestions will help alot!!!!

For the Italian train schedule, go to www.fs-on-line.com. There is an English portion; however, you still have to type in the Italian name of the city (for example, Firenze for Florence. Use a good guidebook to make sure you get the correct names. For more user friendly sites, try www.raileurope.com or www.bahn.de. All of these sites will give you train schedules between cities to help you plot the time it will take.

The Italian site will also give you the price of the ticket; just keep clicking once you are find the connections you want.
Well, Vatican City is basically the Vatican and all the buildings associated with it, like St. Peter's. I would advise a guidebook on Rome for starters.

Visit the Sistine Chapel, (as others have posted), the first thing in the morning. Go at least a half hour to hour hour before it opens. Tours will be entering even before the opening time. Wiat before it opens, because the line will be very, very long after opening time. From the exit of the Chapel, you can enter the Basilica. There is a lot of museum before you enter the Chapel. Decide if you are going to spend time in the museum first, or go directly to chapel. There are thoughts on this board about both. Save the climb to the cupola for last.
