we've only got one night....

My sons (ages 18 and 24) and I will be stopping over in London for one evening (arriving 8:20 pm) July 13 before we head out the next day for Nairobi. It's their first time ever to be in London - any suggestions (budget to moderate) on hotels, sightseeing, etc? It would be much appreciated!

What time is the flight out the next day? Also which airport(s). Of course - w/ an 8:20 arrival they won't be in central London until around 10 p.m. or later.

Also - you may want to re-post w/ London in your title . . . . .

What time does your flight leave the next day? Which airport(s) for arrival/departure?

Not knowing what time you leave in the morning makes it difficult. My husband and I got in at 6:00 am and stowed our luggage at the airport and got on the Big Red Bus, an on-and-off sightseeing bus. The only stop we made was at the Tower of London. By 4:00 p.m. we were back at the airport to be picked up by an acquaintance who took us to his house for the night before we went off to Scandanavia. So I'm not much help on hotels--or on night-time sightseeing!
