Wet Feet

Ok, some may think this a silly question, but after spending our entire first and last day in Italy last year walking around in the rain with thoroughly drenched feet, we don't want the rain to stop us in Paris in a few weeks, but also don't want to be sloshing around in our comfortable but wet shoes. Can anyone recommend a "latex" overshoe from personal experience, we want something as unobvious as possible (is there such a thing?) Options on the web seem limited so I'm appealing to those who will admit to wearing such an item. Will the French stop and point, and laugh at us if we dare to wear them?

Why don't you just take shoes made for wet weather? Ankle high boots worked great for us in Paris in the rain. Just make sure they are water proofed. Mine were Ecco and my boyfriend's were Timberland.

You need to repost this as "Do we need rubbers in Paris?" You'll get more responses.

Durex extra large should work. Available in many colours to match the crispy pink or purple jogging suits. Ribbed would provide more traction.
Answer? Yes they would all point at you and laugh.

Buy yourself a pair of Merrill's. They aren't heavy, they do have a tread, they're made for walking in snow and slush and they come in loads of colors. If you don't want to spend the $80 (might be less since winter is about over), check out the Land's End site and buy the imitation Merrill's for under $30. I have them and you can't tell the difference.
