Westminister Abbey tour
Hello,
I have been trying to book a westminister abbey vergers tour via email, as everyone says the tours fill quickly.
However i've yet to recieve a response. Has anyone else tried booking a tour via email? How long did it take before you got a reply?

hi, i took our kids last week, calling the booking office around 11 am and asking when we could book; we got the 2 pm tour without a problem. it was one of the most enjoyable and informative ones we took all summer (kids are 9, 9 and 6 and they stuck with it for the whole 2 hours) Sorry I can't help with the on-line question, but telephone booking when you get here is an option (or even before you come)

I went on a verger led tour in mid-July and it was definitely worth it. It's so much more informative with a live person to whom you can ask questions.
We bought tickets as we arrived (got there at 10:00 and did the 10:30 tour). Not sure if we were there on a slow day but doesn't seem likely as the place was packed.

I tried in July to book a verger's tour for our trip in October, and received the following reply: "Thanks for your email. I am afraid we do not take bookings online. You can book a Verger Tour by calling 020 7654 4900 a couple of days before your visit or you can just come 20 minutes before the tour starts and buy your tickets from the Information Desk inside the Abbey". I figure I will call when I get to London, a few days before we visit the Abbey.
