We're Heading to Northern Spain in 5 Days Any Last Minute Restaurant Suggestions?

Hi, I have been pouring over the boards and spent most of my time on our itinerary. Thanks to the board for all of it's help.

If you have any resatuarnt suggestions for the following, it will be appreciated. I have a feeling, no matter where we eat we will be pleased. We're so excited. Thank you.

I think I had replied under another thread, but here it is in case you didn't see it. These are recommendations for restaurants in Santander:

Mesón Goya
Mesón Rampalay
Bodega Cigaleña

These are all near each other, on Daoiz and Velarde street, by Plaza Cañadio.

Also Restaurante Cañadio , on Gomez Oreña 15, behind Plaza Cañadio and Bodega del Riojano, Río de la Pila 5

For a churros breakfast go to Cafeteria Aliva. I can't recall the exact street, but is in the same area as Plaza Cañadio. I'm sure the hotel will know the address.

We went to these restaurants last summer (2006).

I seem to recall you'll be staying at Hotel Bahía. All these restaurants are walking distance from the hotel.

have a great time!

In Barcelona:

Cinc Sentits, c/Arribau 58, for contemporary beautiful dining

Cerveceria Catalana, c/Mallorca 236, for delicious and well priced tapas

Boqueria Market, Pinotxo or Kiosk Universal for fresh market produce and seafood at lunch counters in the great Barcelona market.

Thanks all, yes, cruiseluv, you did help me with my itinerary.

johnthedorf, I'm in...the wild mushrooms Suckling pig cooked with oranges and cloves, has me hooked!

Boqueria Market, we may eat lunch here everyday.

Artlover Cal Pep!!! sounds perfect.

For San Sebastian I went to http://www.todopintxos.com/home/home.php, a board suggestion, and printed out pictures and descriptions of each pintxos to show my husband. Soon, we'll see the real thing. Yippy!

In San Sebastian, Casa Nicolasa at Aldamar 4, first floor.
Superb traditional basque cuisine. Try "menu degustacion" (tasting menu).

Just a note to thank you for your 2006 postings re Tuscany! We left you a note at that thread.

If you get north of Barcelona, go across to France to Collioure for great anchovies! This very historic and lovely seaside town is supposed to be the "anchovy capital of France". Anyway, the drive along the Costa Brava is beautiful. Enjoy Spain and have lots of tapas for us! Remember that some say the Basque region has the best food in Spain (fusion of so many regions!).

In San Sebastian we truly enjoyed tasca hopping. The food in San Sebastian is the best we have had in Spain.
