Domodossola - two more nights here and then it's back to Switzerland.
We spent four nights in Chiavenna before coming to Domodossola, so have been eating too much for at least a week.
There's not enough hiking in the world to keep up with this.

Wonderful. I am also a "victim!!" After three weeks in Italy, returning home I found that my favorite jeans were too tight to wear! Had to try on several pair to find one with a more obliging waistline!!
Nice photos..have fun and eat as much as you like...not everyday will you have food as great as that!!

I’m also currently in Italy. I can feel the pounds piling up! How do people eat two courses every day??? I leave at least half my food and I’m still gaining weight! Even with skipping meals periodically. I hate to get on a scale when I get home.

But gelato on every corner has been problematic

Lunch at a crotto in Chiavenna was an eye-opener - I'd ordered a side of polenta in addition to a heavy main and both were massive. Way too much food.
We'll be back in Italy in December, so I'll need to live off yogurt between when we get home in a few weeks and when we leave again.

Traveling by bike would be problematic with my luggage, I’m afraid! LOL!

I've never been in any restaurant in Italy that frowns on ordering only once course. Two of us were in a very fine (3-fork Gambero Rosso, the top rating by Italy's most respected restaurant rating service) restaurant in Fiumicino about two weeks ago and we both ordered only pasta....no issue whatsoever and they brought us a nice complimentary dessert afterwards.
I think that is a misconception that I used to read here on Fodor's years ago.....maybe it's just me but I have no hesitation to order one course.
