Weekly rentals - Holland, Brugge & Provence.
Hello everybody!

Okay, so the wheels are turning in my head about another trip to plan. I have this idea of using week long vacation rentals is 3 pre-determine areas instead of changing hotels every 2-3 days. Does anyone have much experience with staying in rentals opposed to Hotels or B&Bs?
We are thinking Amsterdam or Haarlem area to explore the northern region of the Netherlands.
Brugge - to explore Belgium and northern France.
Provence - to explore Southern Germany and Italy.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks

We've rented everything from small apartments to houses that sleep 10 in Greece, Malta, and all over France. I recommend it highly. You have more room, a place to spread out, separate spaces for sleeping and lounging, a dining table in a space NOT next to your bed, a kitchen where you can make your own food (great when you're exhausted from sightseeing and can't face dinner at a restaurant, you can get take-out and eat comfortably in your own space!), and NO PACKING/UNPACKING EVERY 2 DAYS. It's a great way to get a little taste of 'foreign' life: shopping in local markets, using appliances and kitchen equipment, watching local TV...

I highly recommend it - and there are many companies that offer rentals throughout Europe. Most have websites.

Thanks Elvira,

Can you recommend anyplace particular in France? Do you know of any places in Amsterdam or close to it? We already know where in Brugge we will stay. It was are first experience away from the hotel scene in Europe, and it was a good experience. Even though we were in the heavily touristed city of Brugge the apartment was off the main strip and very quiet. We could lean out the window and see the clock on the Belfry, that was really cool!
