Week in Rome - Looking for advice

My wife and I are traveling with another couple to Rome. We'll be there for a week right at the end of November and first of December. We're also planning a day trip to Florence. Any advice as to top things to do and see? Where to eat?

This will be the first time overseas for all of us. None of speak any Italian, although I think over the next month we'll try to learn a little.

Hi SLM,

You might find this link, Helpful Information: Italy, useful.

http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...2&tid=34443340

IL Ritrovo, Via de? Pucci 4/A is a very good restaurant in Florence.

hi Stephen,

I would tell you to pick up a Shop til you drop guide for Italy. I used it 3 years ago in Milan and it was great. It points out the notable as well as bucket (later being the reason I bought it) stores in various cities in Italy. I still have friends telling me that Italy is too expensive for shopping but I came back with fines BECAUSE OF THAT BOOK. Going again next week this time to Florence with the same book.

Hi
In addition to the suggestions above, click at the top of this screen at Destinations, and you will be led to a lot of suggestions of things to do and see in Rome. www.twenj.net is also a wonderful resource.

I have a file on Rome; if you'd like to see it, email me at
