Restaurants in Lisbon

We have never been to Portugal and staying in Lisbon for 2 days. We are staying at My Story Hotel which is centrally located and would like restaurants in the area. We love seafood, Italian, most anything that the area is known fr. Medium price with nice atmosphere....suggestions??

Mar Ao Carmo fits the bill : in the center, fish and between 30-50 € depending on what you want to eat/drink. Have fun !

Look at poster ekscrunchy profile for her trip report on this exact subject. Why Italian when you can have Portuguese food?

For certain, go to Ramiro. You CAN make advance reservations there. But you probably have to take a taxi;I don't know your hotel, but taxis are not pricey. When I think of great seafood restaurants in my life, I think of, among others, Ramiro. It is not at all fancy. Ask to sit downstairs if you want to watch the action.

Thank you, HappyT!

Don't know what those last posts are about but agree that saying you want Portuguese food and then asking for Italian is at best weird. Can't help with posh restaurants, but there is a bare bones in the center with the best chicken. Not the best I have had in Portugal, that was many years ago in a little fishing village, but the best I get these days. Look for Bom Jardim.

Bom Jardim is not a place I associate with reservations! I did mention it was bare bones, right? Paper tablecloths bare bones.

Bom Jardim-we picked up a Piri Piri chicken dinner from their walk up take up window on our arrival night.

re: Bom Jardim - When we told people we were going to Lisbon, several friends recommended this place. When we got there, we scratched our heads, and thought "Really?" - it really is cheap and cheerful.
That said, the chicken was really, really good - I'd eat there again without hesitation.

Bom Jardim was the only restaurant I visited twice while in Lisbon! (Pretty much every meal I ate was wonderful but the piri piri chicken was so good I HAD to have more.)
