Websites for great shoes... the answer!

I thank everyone who wrote before. I started checking for web sites and there are lots!
I particularly liked ECCO. Memphisto has a site. Hope this will help many out there.
Keep writing....

Through this board I found suggestions for Ecco or Mephisto shoes. After dealing with the sticker-shock, I bought a pair of Ecco sandals at Nordstrom's. They are great, and I've just broken them in for my upcoming trip to Paris. Thank you to those who gave this recommendation.

I also got a recommendation to shop at the Orange County Marketplace (Southern Calif.) for reconditioned Mephistos. Couldn't find any reconditioned but did find a vendor selling new ones at a discounted price. Didn't buy any, but may shop for a pair in Paris.

I swear by SAS Shoes. I have put on a new pair and done a 10 km walk without a trace of a blister. I don't know if they have a website. They have regular retail (company owned) stores, outlet stores (in the 'factory outlet' malls) and a real factory outlet store at their San Antonio, TX factory
