weather and gardens in March

Hi! Can anyone tell me if spring has sprung in Paris yet? I'm leaving in a few days on my first trip to Paris. A hobby of mine is photography and I'm curious to know if the gardens are starting to bloom yet? I know it may be corny but it never hurts to ask. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from someone on this. Lisa

Well, Lisa - you're sliding to the bottom here. I can't speak for March, but I doubt there is much springing going on. Paris is very far north - it's still snowing at that latitude U.S. and there was snow in the south of France about two weeks ago. Went to Southern England once in late April/early May and found it to be just like northern Virginia - just springing out all over. There may be early bloomers, bulbs perhaps. Worry not - you will get great photos if you go the black and white route. Great light. My best Paris photos were taken in December. At www.wunderground.com you can find historical data on weather - temps and conditions. Have fun!

Thanks for the input, I have packed a few rolls of B&W film, I'll give it a try! I can't wait to get there, all the reading I've already done has me wanting to go back before I even get there! If nothing else it will be an ADVENTURE. Thanks, Lisa

Lisa, you'll want find the posting today about someone just returning from Paris. Said it was green and flowering! And that a flower show is on in March. You might find it to be just what you want. Take color film too.

Following up on the B&W film - what kind are you using? I would love to take B&W while I'm in Paris in May and am wondering which kind to get. I know there is film that is color but appears B&W. Which is cheaper. And no I haven't done a search on this topic so don't hate me!
