Walking the Coltswolds tour company?
After a visit to the Cotswold a couple of years ago and doing a couple of the walks, we think we want to try the whole Cotswold Way using a company to transport our luggage. Anyone out there with experience/recommendations for such a company?

original travel is total overkill for what you want. (It is a high end 'experience' agency)
While no one really 'needs' a tour to walk the Cotswolds, having your luggage forwarded is nice.
Here are some to check out:

There are other good companies -- or you can just do it on your own (just pack light)

I've walked the 100+ miles of the Cotswold Way in 3 sections and for the middle one I gave Contours a try. They booked my overnight stays at B&Bs a suitable distance from one another based on my abilities and moved my suitcase each day as I walked. They actually had the host where I stayed drive the bag to the next night's accommodation which was a surprise to me as I'd assumed Contours had a van.

I had to give it a try but after that experience went back to leaving my suitcase at the place I stayed the night before beginning a walk, as I'd done before and have now on every walk since. It was worth a try but found it wholly unnecessary. I just walk with a day pack for essentials, a change of clothes & necessities and find it perfectly simple. I'm now over 70 and plan to continue as long as I can, the pack gets lighter every year as I learn how to do with less and can't carry as much.
There's nothing wrong with paying someone to move a big bag every day but I found it just sat there and I used almost nothing in it while I walked. Leaving it & returning to pick it up has made much more sense for me.
One thing that's very important, I wouldn't assume that the pre-selected sections of the path that someone has deemed the correct length of walk each day will be the right one for you. The Cotswold Way may seem a first glance easy walking but it isn't, or wasn't for me. After the first section I realized when planning the second that I'd need to shorten the mileage for it to be enjoyable for me. If you aren't sure how far you might walk each day, if you don't book your rooms & luggage transport in advance, it's perfectly doable to play it by ear and walk until you feel like stopping and have a list of accommodations in case you don't stumble upon one along the path.

I meant to include Contours in my list but skipped it somehow. But I agree w/ MmeP that doing it on your own is probably better. Especially if you think you'll want to modify your route/mileage. And if you get stuck out and about and needing a ride to your next (or previous) accommodations there is OK cell coverage in most parts of the Cotswolds and you can always call a taxi.
