Voltage in Istanbul

Coming from Canada, what did you buy to convert your hairblower/curling iron, etc., for the hotel rooms?

thanks for any info.

Note that, amazingly, Istanbul is in Europe.

Technically it's not a river and technically the original City of Istanbul was only on the European side. The Asian suburbs (Uskudar et al) were gobbled by the new regional Municipality of Istanbul in a local government reorganization in 1984.

I think you can find great voltage adaptors in many of the stores in Canada that sell luggage. If I remember correctly a place called "Bentley's" is were I brought mine. Every mall has one of these shops. BTW 220 volts

It's probably cheaper (and a lot safer) to buy one once in Istanbul

Istanbul is actually is starting point of Europe, but yes there is an Asian part of the city as well opposite to the RIVER we call it Bosphorus straight which connects Blacksea to the Aegean or vise versa......
Istanbul always had two parts for the records... Gardyloo I like your style

Voltage is 220 throughout Turkey. 99% hotels will provide a hairdryer.

Its better to have an adaptor in your luggage.

Happy travelling,

Murat

I stand corrected! technically depends upon which side of the Bosphorus you are on. That will teach me to do an impression of Robespierre!
