I am going to London and have a choice of airlines. Virgin, British Air or Air France (w/a change of plane in Paris) What are the pros and cons and you personal thoughts.<BR>Thanks

My personal opinion is that it makes little difference...<BR><BR>There was a time I used to swear by Virgin as superior to British Airways. Probably the thing that made Virgin better, at least on the JFK-LHR route was the little individual screens that gave you a wide choice of entertainment.<BR><BR>In February, I took BA from JFK to LHR and they had the little screens. Of course, there was nothing to watch and I spent the whole flight watching the little map chart the progress of the flight!<BR><BR>Perhaps the biggest difference (and I use the term in a relative sense) is that BA services real coke problems (I'm a diet coke person myself) while Virgin serves their own brand of cola drinks (and I find Virgin diet cola to be very foul tasting). Both are severed in small 8 oz cans.<BR><BR>You can get a bum flight on either due to maintenance problems or weather problems etc. <BR><BR>So, take the one with the lowest fare and the most convenient schedule.

I've flown BA 7 times roundtrip to London and Virgin 5 times. If you had asked this question 5 years ago, I would have said BA was the best, hands down. Now, that answer is Virgin. BA's previously excellent customer service no longer exists, they rarely clean the toilets on board, and the cabin is usually very overheated.<BR><BR>That said, Virgin is not without its problems, but the problems I have run into on Virgin are minor compared with BA.

I have flown both airlines and I can say too,is little difference, if the price and schedule is the same or make no difference to you I will go Virgin, if not I agree with Toby , get the cheaper one. Have fun!

Hi,<BR><BR>I have flown both Virgin and British airways and would choose Virgin. On most Virgin aircraft you have more channels on your personal tv than British Airways ( including Nintendo games) a better amenity kit and a more generous frequent flyer program ( which you can use on America West and Hawaian for example).<BR>In terms of seating both can be a little tight for room compared to AA's More Room in coach ( seat pitch on Virgin/BA upto 32 inches) and food is good ( I personnally prefer Virgin especially since they have been the only airline to upgrade me to Upper Class (Business class)<BR>You can have a bad flight on any airline but I have not had one yet on Virgin.<BR>Have a good time in London.
