Villages to visit?
Hi everyone!
We are driving from Paris to La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in two weeks.
Are there any villages you recommend to definitely stop by and visit on the way down? We would like to drive through pretty towns, and maybe stop to eat, or to spend the night since it?s a long drive.
The web map does not show towns in between, so I appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you!!!!

Hi pk,
If you go to www.viamichelin.com or www.mappy.com and choose "no tolls" you will get the scenic route.
Zoom in and you will see all of the towns.

Not knowing exactly what route you might be taking --- if you want to go a bit out of your way and go directly south after leaving Paris, stop in Bourges for at least two nights -- stay at Hotel de Bourbon (reserve ahead) -- and then on to Beaune in Burgundy wine country. See my report on these towns recently posted. You'll find that whole area very interesting --

Looking at viamichelin it says about 300 miles and 5 hours using mostly limited access highways. I like your idea of driving smaller roads through little villages. It'll take longer but it will be much nicer than boring autobahn driving and toll paying.
In that area I've been to Troyes, Chaumont, Dijon, Beaune, Dôle and Besançon. Troyes & Chaumont take you a little further north, the others more south. Troyes, Dijon and Besançon are certainly not little villages.
How about driving through Tonnerre to see the spring, visiting Abbey Fontenay briefly, poking around Semur-en-Auxois if you have time and spending the night in Beaune? The next morning in Beaune you could see the famous glazed tile roof of the Hospice before driving on to Switzerland.
I've read nice things about Semur-en-Auxois. I'd planned to visit the spring in Tonnerre this past May but the bad weather sent me to Besançon instead. See the website for Abbey Fontenay:

You'd arrive in Beaune late and be able to walk about peacefully as the day trippers will be gone.
