Hi, I really enjoyed this hotel. There is no caldera view. I would stay in Oia if you want the view. At the Vedema you are in the middle of a small (not especially scenic) town....but...the service is wonderful, food was great, they will shuttle you to Fira or the beach. You will feel like you are in a luxury resort.

Do a search on this site and check the raves and rants.

Hello-my husband and I stayed at Villa Vedema this past Sept-the grounds are very nice and the pool area is fun-the wine tasting and restaurant is also good-they shuttle you to the beach as well and have a gym area which I used a few times-the rooms are just ok-nothing elaborate-they are very large tho which is nice-the only thing tho is that if you have never been to Santorini I would recommend staying in Oia (or Fira) for the view of the caldera-we spent two nights at Vedema and 2 nights at Perivolas in Oia -the view is so unbelievable it is worth staying near it-and the rooms at Perivolas were smaller but cushier-they were on the cover of Cande Nast for their pool-and even if you do not stay at Vedema you can spend an evening there for the wine tasting and dinner-I have also heard that Katikies in Oia is nice-we wished we had spent all four nights at perivolas-you can rent a car either way and tour the island-hope that is helpful and feel free to email back with more questions-Melissa

Hi,

You must stay on the caldera side of this island and stay in a hotel with a view, unless you are only going to swim and sit in the sun. We stayed at the Katikies and the Esperas, both in Oia. Both are wonderful. the pool at the Katikies is an infinity pool and breathtaking. The staff at the Esperas are more relaxed. The views from both are one of the most memorable experiences I have had.

Enjoy
