Villa rentals

Has anyone heard of www.summerinitaly.com? This is an internet based rental company for villas in the Sorrento area.

Lolo,

I am not familiar with the company, but www.summerinitaly.com is a "favorites" link on slowtrav.com.

I looked at the site - there are some lovely villas.

Enjoy your search and trip!

I rented through Summer in Italy last year. They have some lovely properties -- but I'm afraid I would not recommend them. Some of their properties require cash deposits, some charge extra for electricity... these are things that do not make a relaxing vacation! We had a particularly nasty experience with the owner of the villa we rented from -- he required that we pay an exorbitant extra fee to use a newly added swimming pool! Needless to say neither the pool nor the fee were part of our original rental agreement. We would have been quite happy to forgo the pool and hefty fee! When we appealed to Summer in Italy for help, they were only mildly responsive -- we ended up having to pay and feeling extremely resentful. If you DO rent from Summer in Italy I suggest you avoid at all costs Villa Fiorentino in Positano -- the owners are shysters who are only out to make a buck.

Lolo: Go to tuscanynow.com. More villas and apartments in more prices ranges in more locations than you can believe. Click on "catalogue" and they will send you a beautifully illustrated catalogue with multiple pictures of each facility.m We used them and tey are excellent in service and customer satisfaction. You won't be disappointed.
If you are planning to rent this next summer, you better be quick. They book very early. Have a great trip.

We rented with Summer In Italy last year, and will probably go again with them in September. For my own experience, I can only say good things about them. Their web site is easy to use, there are lengthy descriptions and plenty of pictures. Our accommodation was exactly as described, and whilst we were there (in Positano) we met other people who had rented from them and were equally happy. I only wish they covered more of Italy. Our rental had everything included (the descriptions say what's included and what's not), and so we did not have to pay for anything locally. Highly recommended.

We just stayed in a Positano rental through Summer in Italy last week (and reluctantly had to leave it to come home ). We were very happy with both the rental property and the services and communication provided by Summer in Italy. This was our first experience with a rental apartment, and they provided a lot of information to help prepare. We found the property very much as described and depicted on the website. As bobthenavigator and others said above, there is a lot of information on slowtrav, including many property reviews from people who have rented through Summer in Italy.

We got back last month from a villa that we rented through summerinitaly. We were very pleased with them. The villa was accurately described and they were easy to work with.
