Villa in Greek Isles

We are a family of 5 going to Greece after visiting Italy.
Any suggestions on Travel Agencies or establishments that handle Villas, homes and apartments in the Greek Isles?

I didn't see anything about villa rentals at this web site, brotherleelove2004. Did I miss it?

I suggest you send them an email and describe what you'd like. If they can't assist you they can probably refer you to someone (or a website) who can. They can assist you in any other travel plans you have including transportation to and from the islands you choose to visit.

Try CV Travel. http://tinyurl.com/o2bbz

Sorry I cannot offer too much help about them as a company as I have never booked with them. However when we were in Paxos in 2003 we passed a number of their properties which all looked lovely. May be worth looking at the kind of places they have to offer and asking if anyone else on the forum has experience of them?

Hi,
I do not know a specific company, but if you can google villa rentals and the name of the island where you want to stay, there are a number of options. You usually need to rent for a week. Your trip sounds wonderful.

I've used both CV Travel (using them again this year!) and Planos and both are excellent. Some others to look at are
www.travelalacarte.co.uk/
www.tapestryholidays.com/
www.greekislandsclub.com/
They are all UK-based and offer full packages, but I think they will all do accommodation only if you are travelling independently.

NEW QUESTION..I have been going over and over with this question and I put you FODORITES to the test. What would you do.My college son arrives into Athens at 10pm at night. We are supposed to arrive from Milan on the 11th or 12th.Then we are taking the fast speed boat to one of the islands.MYK or a different one. Should we arrive on the 11th and get a boat in the afternoon?or try to come into Athens on the 12th when my son arrives and we spend the night in a hotel.Would it be at the hotel at the airport or the hotel in Athens? We could leave early in the am on the 13th.Or we could leave on the 11th and my son would sleep in a hotel(airport) that night and take a taxi to the docks.
I just don't know how everything is layed out Athens..Can someone help me

This is a bit confusing, I hope I'm understanding you. Assuming I am, here's what I'd do:

Go to Athens the day before your son, check into a hotel and reserve an extra room for him or make sure your room has an extra bed. Find a hotel near to the Monastiraki Metro Station. The Attalos Hotel is a good choice because of the price and location. The only hotel at the airport is the Sofitel but it's very expensive. Your son can take the Airport Metro into Central Athens directly to Monastiraki when he arrives, then walk the 2 or 3 blocks to the hotel. Once you've met up with your son, the next day you can take the Metro from Monastiraki right to the Ferry port at Piraeus.

brotherleelove2004..it does sound confusing now that I am reading it.I needed to send a question before I was going to leave my "favorite post" for about 4 hours.Your answer sounds very logical. We have decided to tour Athens at the end of our trip(2 days) and thought it would be better to do the islands first and end with Athens.I don't want to tour Athens before our college son comes because that is his favorite part of the trip.At first we were going to tour one day without him and do the second day with him, then, go onto the islands. That will not work because he has shown a great interest with Athens, and does not want to miss ONE day. It still sounds confusing to me.

If it appeals to you my suggestion does then apply to your situation. You could even go out to the airport if you wanted to meet him, or meet him outside the Monastiraki Metro Station at a pre-determined time. Perhaps he could call you from the airport using an OTE phone card (he can buy a cheap one at the airport to use in the public phones) to let you know he's on his way into town. The Metro takes about 45 minutes to get from the airport to Monastiraki. The entrance to the Monastiraki station is small and you'd have no problem seeing him as he exited into the plaza out in front.

It's a good idea to leave Athens until the end of your trip for a reason you might not have considered. If there's a ferry delay because of high winds or mechanical breakdowns you might have missed your flight home if you had left your return to Athens until the last minute. This way you've given yourself a little slack if you need it.

Thanks brotherleelove, You are the second person to tell me about the ferries being late and messing up the return. If you had a choice of places to stay in Mykynos where would you stay? It doesn't matter how expensive it is.

I wish we'd gone to Italy while in the area. I don't know if Folegandros is a possibility for you but check out my favourite place:

If you have a look at explorecrete you'll find some ads. There are also websites for Pure Crete, Simply Crete, and Freelance Holidays, all of whom we've used there.

I've considered Laskarina who specialise in more out of the way places, and love their stuff too.

anamaria,
I'd love to know how you make out with your trip/plans. My husband and I are thinking of going next April. If friends come with us, maybe we'd rent a villa instead of a hotel room.
When are you traveling?
