23 and going to London for the first time - where would you stay?

I would love some help for my daughter.
She will be in London on her own towards the end of July.
She was in London in 2009 with me and we only stayed for 2 days.
And of course no time on her own,

This time it is by herself until she meets up with a friend to go traveling.

I have suggested to her Knightsbridge, Kennsington, Notting Hill, Holland Park, Chelsea and Soho as areas that would be good as a base.
Perhaps Earls Court as well.
Am I right?

Also any hotel suggestions would be really appreciated.
Budget would be mid range - want nice, clean and safe.

thanks in advance.

SoHo the most trendy Kensington cheapest still
nice area where Lady Di used to hang.

Cheapest nice hotel for me last Tower Hotel bid priceline.com $80 great location view of the Thames. If you can go 100 quid or so might look at the Dolphin House my personal fav when
I go on business.

generatorhostels.com there are super good with lots of folks
at good price points for the most action for young folks.

Good luck!

Wherever inside the Circle Line offers the best price on Priceline.

Anything more precise than that is pointless fussing.

Pointless fussing maybe, but as a 23 year old I would much rather have stayed in Soho than in any of the other areas mentioned.

So much more lively than the other areas and more chance ( I think) of being able to meet people if you're on your own.
