Versailles to Giverny not returning to Paris

For the 66km distance between Versailles and Giverny and the estimated 1-1/2 hour drive (per viamichelin.com) that may be quite an expensive uber bullet to bite. Train from Rive-Droite to Saint-Lazare and from there to Vernon is not complicated or expensive.
