Stained-glass church windows in St-Mere-Eglise shows depict the American paratrooper that famously got stuck on the church steeple and was left dangling for a while and the paratrooper who came down in the German-held village. Yes nice small town with a nice museum - a bit inland. May have been the first village or town liberated after D-Day.

Yes, we also enjoyed St. Mere Eglise since my home town in Ohio is where the gliders were built. Amazing to see what they were--plywood and canvas "planes".
And we liked Pegasus Bridge on the way to Bayeux. It was an awesome invasion.
