I enjoyed your report of magical Venezia, Julie. Good info for first time travelers going there.

Looking forward to Rome.

Gee, Linda, thanks for the encouragement. I actually finished proof reading it last night and started to copy/paste it to slowtravel. I think I will try to post here as well. I'll post the first day and see how the reception is; if others are interested, I'll post day two, etc.

OK, Margaretlb, I'll watch for it. Can you tell me what the title will be? I usually read everything about Italy, but just in case . . .

And I'm still watching for your Rome section, Julie!

Julie, I live for long juicy trip reports. Thanks so very much. I know how much time and effort goes into such a detailed report. Now I want to visit that cemetary!

This is my 3rd attempt to post a thanks to everyone for their responses??? Don't know where the black hole is that eats my replies, but I'll try again. Thanks everyone for your kind responses. I'll work fast as I can on the Rome report.

What an amazing trip report. I'll be in Venice in April and will take all your comments with me. I get lost so easily and your info just may be my saving grace. All I have to do is find that "Blue" bus and stamp my ticket.

Linda, I'll use my screen name within the title. I'll try to post page one tonight (tomorrow morning at the latest).

Great trip report. Great closing remarks. We loved the little dogs running through the streets. Fortunate enough not to hit a pile of poop. They do dress to impress. We came up with a fun little game. We called it spot the Venetian. It was actually so obvious. The well dressed slim person walking very fast with a slightly annoyed look on their face trying to march through the throngs of tourists in the narrow streets. Glad you had a great time, we sure did and the people were wonderful.

Got some more posts since I last checked. Glad to see that some more folks have enjoyed & some of the info will be helpful. I'm glad to have the opportunity to contribute since I gained so much from so many on this board.

Well, I just posted the first part of my Rome report, titled "Rome & Ostia Antica Trip Report". Hope it helps some folks.

Hello Julie_Hurst, for some reason this is the first time I have seen your thread and trip report. I love it!! I have been to Venice so many times but I never stop enjoying reading others reflections on their time in Venice. And your humor, it is wonderful. I had some good chuckles. You also gave good information for first time visitors.
Wishing you, your husband and your son many more wonderful trips!

Thank you, LoveItaly for your kind thoughts. Folk's posts sure reveal whether they love Venice or not, don't they. But then again, how could anyone not love her!

Happy travels to you too, Julie

Thanks Julie, I didn't go this year but next year for sure!

By the way, I meant to say good information for first time visitors AND for visitors returning to Venice.
Now I am going to go read your Rome report! That sounds like more fun then facing the crowds at the stores, lol.
