Yes, there is more than one cruise dock. San Basilio can handle the smaller cruise ships, and be reached by taxi from Piazzale Roma or by vaporetto - see tinyurl.com/san-basilio. The main Marittima terminals can also be reached by taxi from Piazzale Roma, or bus or shuttle - see tinyurl.com/venice-marittima.

My wife and I did this last October. We each had a suitcase, on wheels. You turn right after coming out of the train station, and walk approx 100m before carrying your cases over a bridge. It is not case friendly, as it does not have an even surface. Once over the bridge, there is a bus terminal where each cruise line has a shuttle bus that comes and goes to the respective ships.
