Venice to Padua on the Brenta Canal-tips?

We will be in Venice in October and are thinking about a day trip on the canal to Padua. Any tips on how to plan/book a trip?

I actually have 3 websites with info on the canal trip, but wondered if anyone here had experience with one of them. They are: www.ilburchiello.it; http://antoniana.it and www.deltatours.it.

Thank you, Roamer, that trip looks like a lot of fun. Sadly for me, it looks as if they only sail through the end of October. My sister and I do not arrive in Venice til November 7.

When I saw your OP I googled 'canal tour to Padua' and found this write-up on slowtrav. In case you have not seen it, the link is
http://www.slowtrav.com/ginda/brenta_canal.htm

Looks like a very nice trip.

thank you for the links. I enjoyed them (third one did not open for me but the other two were great.)

OO

We took the Brenta Canal trip from Venice to Padua last month. We reserved it on their website and then paid for it at the American Express office in Venice. Both of us were disappointed in the trip. Much of the canal is not very scenic. You'll see a lot of industrial buildings beside the canal. We visited three villas on the trip. The last one was by far the best. We ordered the lunch that was served at the second villa. The food was very average. For example, there was a simple green salad that was drenched in Thousand Island dressing..........not very Italian.
Hope this is helpful.

OO-thanks for the link to slowtrav. There, the trip sounds great! And jrjcollins, thank you, also. Seems as if your experience was not the same, but I appreciate your input.
