Venice to Cinque Terre

If driving between Venice and Cinque Terre, what interesting sites/towns/villages would your stop are visit? This would be probably a day drive. Thanks.

Hello kywood. When you say a day drive do you mean that in one day you will drive from Venice to Cinque Terre and then return to Venice at the end of that day? Or do you mean that you will take one day to drive from Venice to Cinque Terre and then stay in Cinque Terre for one or more nights?

Oops. I should have clarified. We would take one or 1 1/2 days to drive from Venice to CT and then stay in CT for a couple of nights.

It's dependent on the route you want to go - you could head west and go through Genoa and then down the Riviera di Levante coastline, or go through the Tuscany. If choosing the latter route, you could visit Verona (to see Casa Giuletta of Romeo & Juliet fame, not to mention the Roman ampitheatre, etc); Lucca; Cararra (known for its marble quarries). If choosing the Genoa route, definitely stop and explore the city of Genoa itself, visit the world's largest aquarium, etc. Camogli, Sestri Levante, or overpriced (but beautiful) Portofino is worth a visit before reaching the Cinque Terre.
