Venice to Amsterdam by car in June

My 15 year-old granddaughter and I would like to travel from Venice to Amsterdam over a period of eight days in late June. I am leaning toward renting a car to make the journey. I welcome any advice or what others who have been in the region might do with a similar opportunity.Thanks.

You will pay a huge fee for picking a rental car up and dropping it off in different countries. We on e had a quote near $1000.

Understand that there probably will be a stiff cross border drop off fee. You could use Autoeurope .com as a benchmark to see what such a rental will cost.

For eight days I would consider taking the train, using cities such as Munich as a base for a few days to include side trips--for example Neuschwanstein.

I have driven from Frankfurt to Amsterdam and back, and from Frankfurt to Venice and back. I would not do that again and would not even consider driving from Amsterdam to Venice. Absolutely no point.
You have eight days for the time point to point? What do you want to see in between? Focus on that. Then figure out the best way to do that. Perhaps share your entire itinerary and you will get advice relevant to your specific needs and interests.

What do you want to see en route and where do you want to stop? Besides the issue of enormous drop off charges -- if you want to visit many/any cities on the way, a car will be next to useless. Trains will likely be faster, cheaper, and easier.
