Venice photos now online
Some of my Venice, Burano, and Torcello photos are now online at www.oneeyed.homestead.com. I plan to add photos from Florence within a week and Rome about one week after that. At the same time, I have been significantly restructuring my Web site, so if you find anything odd happening, chances are it will be fixed soon.

Hi Dan!

Great photos! There's one photo that reminds me of one of mine, the carnival mannequin. I'll have to go home and see if it was the same shop. I scanned in 109 photos yesterday and now am working on adding them to my web page. So time consuming!

Beautiful photos, especially those islands---you weren't kidding when you called them colorful, and the pictures prove it!
Since traveling overseas myself for the first time, I realize the joy of capturing a photo that not only matches your memory but surpasses it.

Dan: Great shots.

You brought back wonderful memories of Venice, especially Ristorante da Raffaele. We ate at the outdoor cafe late one evening this past May. The geraniums were in bloom, the small canal was still and beautifully reflecting the light. The stillness was occasionally broken by the sounds of the gondolas cutting through the water. The food and service were good, but the setting was other worldly. It was great re-living Venice through your pictures. Thanks.

Thanks for the compliments everybody. I expect to have Florence finished by the middle of next week and Rome a week or so later, as I have already begun scanning and loading. It's great to see more people posting travelogues and photos now. I can never get enough of either. I must have looked at Jim Tardio's photos a couple of dozen times.

Dan:

Enjoyed your pictures very much. Made visiting Venice for the first time next May even more inviting. Look forward to seeing the photos of the rest of your trip. Have been to those cities and will enjoy seeing what I recognize.

j
