Give us a budget range - - or go window-shop to your heart's content at www.venere.com - - and you can go ahead and check room availability and book for yourself, if you choose, while you're there.

Best wishes,

Rex
We stayed at the San Moise last november booked through www.venere.it.

We loved our room. It was one of 2 extra large rooms with a canal view. Our friends stayed in a non-upgraded room and it was VERY small. Definitely worth upgrading. Great location, nice breakfast, friendly staff. Love Venice!

Beware of Venere. They will only provide information of some of the rooms, maybe getting stuck with a high priced room. Our room ran at $ 250/ nite, although there are cheaper rooms available. Find the infor in Venere and contact the hotel and make direct reservations.

San Moise is not close to the vaporetto stops, making it hard to get there with your suitcase, in a dark street (hard to find).

They are currently remodelling and the noise (early in the morning) plus the smell did not appeal to us.

Didn't care for the staff's attention.

On the good side they have a very nice bkfst. and are very close to St.Mark's.

Ana

We stayed at the very reasonalbly priced Al Gambero on Calle dei Fabbri in Oct 99. The rooms had all been recently remodeled and baths were also redone. It is located midway between the Rialto stop on the vaparetto and St Marks. The rooms are small, but we found them to be very nice and would stay there again on our next trip to Venice. Hopes this helps.
