Venice Hotel in September?

We will be in Venice the second week of September and desperately need help in finding a hotel. We would like a double room with private bath and air conditioning. We realize that it will be more expensive in Venice but will only be there for about three days and wish it to be memorable. Do you have any suggestions? Also do you have suggestions for Florence?

Good Morning, Lynda Two recommendations for Venice
#1 . HOTEL KETTE, San Marco-piscina, San Moise, 2053 ..A three star hotel with 51 rooms, without rist.located about two blocks west of the Pza S. Marco. Tel 5207766.
#2. HOTEL DO POZZI, CALLE LARGA 22 mARZO, 2373, a three star hotel with 29 rooms, with rist. DA RAFFAELE that includes a 10% sconto on dinner. located about two blocks west of the Pza S. Marco, definately know that this hotel has A/C and would assume the KETTE also.....Have stayed at the Do Pozzi a number of times in the past and should be in the approx. range of 160.00USD per nite, double, breakfast and taxes inc...
FLORENCE, My suggestion would be the HOTEL CONTINENTAL, Lugarno Acciaioli, 2, a three star hotel with 61 rooms, located at the north end of the Ponte Vecchio, street side rooms can be noisy...
again have stayed here a number of times in the past. should be approx. range of 185.000UDS per nite, double, breakfast and taxes inc.....
A second choice would be the HOTEL LUNGARNO, borgo Sant'Jacopo,14, tel 439871, is a four star hotel located on the opposite side of the river Arno, think the price would be just over 200.000USD
Have some ristorante recommendations, if you so want, e -mail me.... Have a good day.
RICHARD OF HICKORY HILLS, IL......

OOPS.. I forgot about Florence: here is a good value
hotel on the south bank of the Arno river, 15
minutes walk from the center of the city – Hotel
Silla. Also 3 stars, w/WC (just like the Venice
hotel I mentioned above), and if you arrive by car
they have an attached garage. Again, send a fax to:
011-39-55-234-14-37. A

Just back from 3 wks in italy. Stayed at the Pensione Accademia. Charming. But, I did overhear the desk clerk telling someone that they are booked for most of September due to the International Film Festival. I do not have the dates of the festival, but you really need to book immediately if you are to get anything at all.
Florence. We splurged and did not regret a dime. Mona Lisa Hotel. Converted palace. They have a web site with pictures. Cost about $267 US dollars. I am the cheapest person around when it comes to hotels--and I was thrilled my fiance insisted we stay there. Ask for room 14 if you can get it, some of the other rooms are much, much smaller. Ours was huge--with a 15'ceiling and a chandelier over the bed. Jacuzzi tub. 16th century, beautiful furniture. Sigh.

We stayed at the Hotel Bisanzio in Venice and were very pleased. It's a family run hotel in a quiet area but just a short walk to St Marks Square. The staff is very helpful with restaurant reccomendations etc. I believe it can be booked through Best Western reservations.
