Venice-English speaking doctor
I just got back from the doctor where she gave the green light for our October Venice trip! I'll be 6 mos. pregnant and she suggested that I research some English speaking doctors before I go for worse case scenario problems...a good idea. I thought there was a post on this before but I can't seem to find it...

Swalter518-
Good luck and have fun- I am 26 weeks pregnant and heading to Rome next week. I have already been to Paris for one trip and Holland/Belgium for another during this pregnancy and I'm so glad I did it. Make sure to take and drink lots of water, even if you are not thirsty and just enjoy your time since your next trip to Italy will be quite different with a little one it tow!

HI best wishes for you and your bambino!! Where are you staying? Many of the hotels have a list of--or at least know the name and phone # of--local MDs for tourists to consult. It seems that elaine gave you good info, I just wanted to add a little moral support.

Hi swalter, you are right, sometime in this last month or so there was a thread regarding English speaking doctors in Venice, I remember it well. It seems the search engine here doesn't seem to work to well, at least not for recent post.
I went to Google and didn't find a whole lot except that hotels usually know of English speaking doctors etc. etc. Guess we all know that for heavens sakes.
Do go to slowtravel: http://slowtravel.com. I would imagine you would find some good information there.
I am sure you would prefer to have names and information before you leave for Italy. Best wishes to you, enjoy Venice and congratulations on your soon to be arriving little baby who I imagine will be a great traveller too.

1) don;t mean to hijack the threed but wha if every poster top posted after an hour till their questions were answered?
that said, I assume you would be getting some kind of travel helath insurance befrore you go, in case you do need medical atttention while in Venice. I have found that most travel health policies have info available before you leave, of English speaking practitioners .
I like www,insuremytrip.com to compare travel health policies - god luck !
