Venice at Easter - need advice!
I plan to visit Venice March 31-April 5th. I know that Easter is April 11th. Will I be facing tons of crowds if I go on these dates? Or do the Easter crowds arrive the saturday before easter (April 10th)? I really want to avoid crowds and would be willing to change the dates to avoid them. Should I change my dates to March 24-March 30? Thanks!!

We went to Venice over Easter 2002. We were there for a few days before as well as Easter weekend itself.
The only days we found the crowds particularly large were Sunday and Monday.
Friday and Saturday were only a little more crowded than Wednesday and Thursday.
Since we had covered the St Mark's area and other tourist hot spots in our first few days, we simply spent our time in quieter areas on those two days.
Given that you aren't actually going to be there over Easter itself, I don't think you should experience Easter crowding.
We were therre 27th March to 2nd April and thought the weather was just lovely.
Hope you have a wonderful trip...
