Veggie Food

I've been there a couple of times. I had the same diet as yours the first time and it was a challenge, & that was in Barcelona. I was living there, so I did have the benefit of cooking my own meals. You may want to acquaint yourself with vegetarian or tortilla de patata sandwiches from Bocatta and Pans & Company. They're sandwich joints which you'll find just about anywhere in Spain. Good luck.
Hi Mary,

I'm a vegetarian, too (but eat dairy). I was there a while back, and didn't have too much trouble. I found that most of the waiters I encountered knew at least some English, so I was able to ask them about specific ingredients. (Mind you, I'm not the sort who expects people to speak English on my account. In fact, I'm now studying Spanish to better prepare for my next visit. But at the time, I knew next to no Spanish.)

Of course, it also helps that I have really pedestrian tastes! Rather than go hungry, I'm perfectly happy eating a cheese sandwich or pizza. (I know. What a boring life!)
