Vaccinations for Turkey trip?
My husband and I will be traveling to Turkey in a few weeks, and I had not given a thought to vaccinations (stupid!). It looks like Hep A and Hep B are the most important, but I would be interested to hear some thoughts or experiences. Thanks!

The CDC site has a page: http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/turkey.aspx. If you are going to Istanbul and other commonly visited areas you are at no more risk than you are anywhere else for hep a-b. The recommendations are for shots they think you should have anyway.

Macksix, There are some people i know here in istanbul against whom you may wish you had taken a rabies vaccine.
Seriously, your biggest risk will be "reflux" if you do not have much immunity against the helicobacteria or whatever it is called that causes it. Otherwise, most Americans are used to fatty oily foods so will not suffer from their more tasty Turkish brethren.
