Using Skype In Florence
Ciao,
I will be staying at the Casa Santo Nome de Gesu and need to skype daily on my MacBook. I do not think the convent is *tech savvy* so need to know if there are any free wireless areas? I have an A T & T aircard. Thanks.

In an urban area, you might find some unsecured Wifi hotspots but I wouldn't count on it.
Best to make sure that when you book accommodations, they have Wifi and that they don't charge some exorbitant rates for it, which happens in Italy.
I would look for a cheap calling card instead.

Oh, no I will actually be back from Bali on the 10th, leave next Monday.I don't know of that place where you are staying is it on the centro side or oltro arno?
Almost all the irish bars in town have free wifi, so do alot of smaller cafes where they have appertivo. There is alittle bar around the corner from my apartment called shot cafe, at night very young american students but from like 4-8 pm it's empty and they have free wi fi. I know I walk by places all the time will try to pay attention this week and jot them down.
