Use of a Schwab Bank ATM Card in France

What experiences have people had withdrawing euros using the Schwab Bank ATM card in France? Any problems? Suggestions?

I have a friend who has such a card. She has no trouble and Schwab refunds any fee charged by the owner of the ATM. My brokerage card works fine as long as I remember the 4 digit code.
ATM is English. I forget what thy're called in France but in Italy it's bancomat.

ATMs are known as DABs in French or distributeurs automatiques de billets.

French bank ATMs have no service charges. You may incur a 1% currency conversion charge imposed by Sirrus/Maestro/Pulse. Any other charges come from your local bank.

We use a Schwab ATM card in France all the time. There is no foreign currency exchange fee, so the exchange rate is very attractive. There is no additional fee charged by Schwab.

Be sure to call Schwab before you leave to let them know you'll be using your card abroad.

Schwab brokerage debit card is not available with an EMV chip, although their checking account debit card does have an EMV chip. But they have to run a credit check to allow you to open a checking account. Does anyone have a problem using a non-chip card in Europe?

Does anyone have a problem using a non-chip card in Europe?

What kind of card?

A non chip ATM card is never a concern.

A non chip credit card can be problematic; particularly at kiosks, tool booths, fuel pumps.
