US Alternative to Mariage Freres in Paris

I fell in love with the tea at Mariage Freres while in Paris. Sadly, I didn't purchase enough while there since I was trying to stick to a budget. Is there a similar alternative that does mail order in the US? I know that I can purchase from Mariage Freres' website, but the shipping charges to the US are rather steep for a very small product!

Thanks

Check your local Williams and Sonoma. I have seen Mariage Freres teas there.

They have a selection at my favorite shop in Boston, "Louis." Its a sort of Paris's "Colette."

I've seen it at Dean & DeLuca in Soho, New York but it's not on their website. It might not be a regularly stocked item. If they have it, I'd be very surprised if they wouldn't ship. (212) 226-6800

Am I the only one who doesn't understand French and opened this thread wondering if it's about "alternative marriages"?

You can buy Mariage Frères teas on line at their web site, which now is in English as well as French.

Wow! So many options to explore! Thank you all so much!

And to clarify, I do know that I can purchase from the Mariage Freres website but I don't wish to purchase enough to merit the expensive shipping charge. The minimum shipping is nearly $20.

Oh, I was very amused by the alternative marriage thread idea. Nope, just tea.

Jody-

The website that you suggested has my favorite blend! Thanks for posting the info! Also, I'll be in the area in September, so I'll pop in and check out the place.

They certainly do carry a lot of the different blends! I envy you your trip to Dallas...lived there for 12 years , very near that area, and loved it!

Moldyhotels, were are you located? Porte Rouge here in Chicago has a huge stock of their teas and I have seen some at Williams Sonoma, but not a big selection.

Thanks swalter518 -- I just spent 20 minutes on the PR site! They have pictures of the MF teas:

sfowler-it's one of my favorite stores! My husband has barred me from going there! Check out poshchicago.com for another of my favorites!

I second Jody's recommendation of the Cultured Cup in Dallas. That's where I buy my tea. And you have to try French Breakfast and Prince Igor. Those are the most popular blends.
