Have you looked at Flickr. Kodak gallery has a place you can check off so people don't have to register. Webshots provides limited freespace for each email address you register. Photobucket is also good because you can share automaitaclly with facebook

I like flickr. I have a pro account so that I can upload an unlimited amount of pics at a time. It is 50$/year. There are privacy setting to leave them as open or private as you wish. There is also a free add on component that aloes you to batch upload. I usually will upload nightly on my laptop while travelling. I just set it up to upload prior to going to sleep.

I use PhotoBucket, which is very simple to upload and to make direct links to a specific photo. It also has a fast mass uploader when you have a big bundle of pictures.
I had to get a pro account with unlimited photos after some of my photo threads were excessively popular, but it was only something like $35 for 2 years.

Check out Picasa. Free to download the first 1GB of photos are free. After you upload your photos to your web album you can email the link to anyone you wish and they can view them without having an account.

pbase.com Costs about $23 a year for quite a lot of space, easy to use, very professional looking, no need to register to view them. You can get an idea by looking at my galleries - www.pbase.com/annforcier

I use kodakgallery and have for years. It too has a feature to download that allows for mass batch uploading. I pay $20/year for my own page (www.kodakgallery.com/tracybates) but you don't have to do that.

Bookmarking because I have most of my photos on iPhoto/MobileMe, but I'm looking for another site to upload pix to places like here and Facebook, but won't allow others to get into my other photos. I could do it with what I have, but I just prefer a separate account for photos that can be viewed by anyone, anywhere, with or without my permission. I'm trying out several places before I decide.

I use Flickr and like the way I can work with it and organize my pictures. I could never figure out how to download my own pictures from the Kodak site. However, Flickr limits the number of pictures that can be uploaded unless you pay an annual fee.
Here's the basic organization I use: Areas contain collections which contain sets.

Have a look at http://Panoramio.com Free and easy to use. You can upload multiple pics at a time.
If you mark the locations of your photos they may be selected to be used on Google Earth. I was really excited when some of mine showed up on Google Earth as I consider myself just a snapshot shooter! ;^)

I've been using Shutterfly for several years and I like the site. I've created a domain (also called a share site) and upload directly to the domain. This allows people to view the photos w/o having a login. You can make each section visible to everyone or make the album private and accessible to those you give permission to.

We are so glad this subject came up. We have been looking at most Fodorites photos for a year. Especially kerouac, always beautiful and informing, Not being totally computer savvy, this will give us a chance to learn from various sites. When we post our trip report (leave in 11 days) for Paris, Switzerland, I can add pictures. Thanks to all for sharing. This site is so Cool
