<<I am seriously depressed right now. I mean the world is such an amazing place. I hate being back here.>>

I know <b>EXACTLY</b> how you feel. Ten years ago when I went backpacking for just a mere 2 weeks, I felt the same way when I came back to the states. It was such a high to go travelling all over the place, staying in youth hostels, meeting new people, etc. Some of my friends didn't quite understand what I was feeling, probably because they'd never done anything like that. The following year I quit my job and went backpacking over there for a month! As quite a few on here have said, you're still young, so there's quite a bit you can still do to either move over to Europe or get yourself a good job here in the states where you can use your vacation time to go over to Europe. Glad you had some an awesome time!

Yes. None of my friends understand either. Some of them even told me I wasted my money. But I laugh at them. They have no clue what the world is like. Just what they see on tv. I Like to form my own opinions.

10-10-987 is 4 cents a minute to a landline, plus 12 cents a minute to a cell phone in most of Europe, including Italy. At least that was their fee as of this past July. I think that's still cheaper than anything else that's been mentioned here. We've used it alot in the past few years as my daugter lived in France one year and England the next. Even with almost daily calls the monthly bill was not too bad.

Another option, we just switched to Comcast (VOIP) and I think they said the rate to europe was 9 cents a minute to either a cell or landline. We just got it so I haven't used it to call over there yet but I know whatever fee they quoted me was cheaper than 10-10-987 or I wouldn't have switched.

I'm just back from a summer trip too. It is such letdown to return to everyday life, isn't it? Plus, you are at a hard age, as far as figuring out what you want to do with your life. And add to that a long-distance relationship. It's understandable that you are feeling bummed.

For phone calls, we used Skype this summer to make calls. We needed a computer. Also, a headset with microphone attached helped tremendously. The calls cost something like 2 cents a minute. We called directly to people's home phones, so the person we called did not need a computer. I think it would work to call someone's cell phone too.

Yea all I do everyday I search for fares. I can't wait to just suprise her and come back. I will be so happy to be in Florence again. I love it. I checked out skype but for cells in italy 35 cents a min. So far this 10-10-987 is the best. I found a great deal for a bahamas trip that i might have to take. 575$ 5 nights and round trip air from western NY area. Nice hotel as well. So maybe ill just got there for the time being lol. Laterr

I say go for it-move to Europe! If you can't chuck it all at 22 when are you going to be able to?! I bet you can travel pretty light these days...

Not so in 10 years or so!

You are so right. I am telling myself I will never have such freedom again untill I am retired and maybe not even then. I feel good now and you can't take life for granted. I would like nothing more than to be back right now. That is all i am doing is looking at pictures of florence all day and looking at pictures of my girl. Ahhhhhh I would do anything lol

Your pix are great; they remind me of the places we've been (and more places to see). Good luck with your plans!

Hey Lover Boy ... I don't want to sound like your accountant or worse yet your mother, BUT..it may be time for a reality check.

You have just saved l/2 on your phone bill, which probably will mean longer or more frequent calls, which will in turn eat up part of that savings .... and now you are considering a trip to the Bahamas.

From what you said the trip will be $575 + air + food and beer, at least $1,000. Wouldn't that cover airfare to Firenze? Unless you get unlimited vacation time from work, what about those five days?

You have caught a very common disease - the travel bug. The only known cures are $$ and time.

You're not going to get much sympathy, at least not from me, if in the mist of trying desperately to get back to your love, you fly off in another direction to commiserate.

You obviously saved your initial trip money of over $5,500, so we know that you have willpower.

You must have a great job if you can take off two months and then a few months later another five days, probably three including the weekend.

I don't mean to lecture, I would love to see you reunite with her and have a happy ending. By the way, how much would those daily calls be from the Bahamas??? Cell to cell.

Nina

LOL good point nina. No I mean it was 575 for everything air and hotel. Just eating. When I go back to Italy I need at least 700 for the ticket then another at least 800 for a month to stay there. I think I am going to suprise her in november. Yes I do have a good job, but I work for family. So right now I have it made because they wont fire me. LOL. I need bare minimum 2000-2500 to go see her which I do have now but I have other issues. My life is the biggest mess now you wouldnt believe. The only thing that keeps me happy is knowing I will see her again. That is all I need

Forget Verizon. Forget Skype. Forget 101 6868. If your love has a computer, go immediately to www.jajah.com and sign up. It will drastically reduce your phone bills.

OK - end of lecture. It appears as if you have all of the bases covered - especially the iron clad job security.

The pictures are beautiful, thanks for posting them. She is a cutie.

What type of school program is she in that takes seven years to complete? Medicine, law, etc..

When she is finished in two years will she have to leave Italy and return home to Albania to work or can she live and work anywhere in Europe or here if she chooses and can get a Visa?

Do you realize that if you marry her, you will have to invite ALL of us to the wedding?

Are you planning on totally surprising her in November - such as 'honey, I'm home&quot; or are you going to give her at least a few days notice?

If you are telling her in advance, perhaps she can check out the rentals for you.

Surprise visits can be fun, but there can be surprises for both parties .. As a woman, I know that I'd like a bit of time to get my life ready for such a such a wonderful visit. Even a few days notice will make it a BIG surprise.

Thanks ,about the pics. I want to totally suprise her. She is going back to albania until the 26th. So anytime after that she told me to come. I just want to watch her get coffee in the morning and then just ask her for a lighter or something LOL. Yes, she is studying medecine. I hope to live here if and when we get married then she would be a citizen. But for now thats a ways out. So she will stay in italy for now. But then again I love having a great reason to go to italy. and of course I would invite you all. I dont know who would show but that would deff be cool.

An Abanian/Italian/American wedding ... lots of possibilities - food-wise.
