Unavailable sched & fare info on trenitalia

Went on the website for trenitalia this morning to find info on train from Milan to Venice on Wednesday 10/12 and found no information available. Does anyone know what this means? I have looked at it before with no problem.

ediemay, not sure where you are located, but the Trenitalia website defaults the time based on you... so if you're in the USA and looking for a train at say, 4 PM... that could be 1-4 AM in Rome and thus nothing is running. So check your time AND date as you do your search. It's currently working for me also.

Use this link and the Italian spelling for the stations.

Just went on site again and got all the scheduled trains but all for Mestre. When I've been on before there were also trains to the Venice train station smn? does this mean that the direct trains are sold out? How does one get from Mestre to Venice?

The train station on the island of Venice is Venezia SL (Santa Lucia). I found more than one train per hour going directly to "VE S.L." when I searched just now for a train on your date at 11:00.

(Did you use the 24-hour clock? Perhaps you searched for 2:00, thinking 2:00pm; to find 2:00pm you need to input 14:00.)

Here's the link I used:
http://www.fsitaliane.it/homepage_en.html

By the way, there are frequent trains between Venezia Mestre and Venezia SL, take 5-10 minutes.

10/12 = October 12th, the U.S. way
or
10/12 = December 10th, the European way?

>>>Trenitalia schedules POST December 10 have NOT yet been uploaded! <<<

Dec. 10 schedules for Milan/Venice are posted and showing up. So are Oct. 12. Whichever date the OP meant, should be there.

I did search for Venice (sorry, i said smn I think that is the florence station) and I did use 12/10 and did not specify a time. I've had no trouble getting the schedule and fare several times in the past couple of months. I was just floored when I got the message today when I am planning to take the train the day after tomorrow. I am about to try one more time before we leave tomorrow.

<<<did not specify a time>>>. There is the trouble. Put in a time like 10 or whenever you think you want to depart. It will show you 4 or 5 trains close to that time.

Anyone know why I can't buy tickets for a Milan-Tirano Regional trip online? It shows me the trip schedule but no prices and no link to buy.

You can only buy regional (R) ticket 7 days or less ahead.

There is no benefit to buy R tickets online--seats don't sell out, no reserved seats available at any time, no discounts available. In fact, if you buy R tickets online, the refund options have many more restrictions compared to just buying a ticket before you get on the train.

Regional tickets don't have reserved seats so must be validated in the machines trackside before boarding.
