Ullapool and Plockton accommodations

Can anyone recommend accommodations in both the Ullapool and Plockton area? We would prefer b&b but would settle for a small hotel. Thank you.

In/near Ullapool . . . .

I haven't stayed in this one but the setting is great http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/hotels/ardvreck.html

I did stay at this one several years (probably at least 8-10) ago so don't know the current condition. But from the website it seems the same family still runs it. If so, it should be good. I stayed 2 nights and it was very nice http://www.broombankullapool.com/index.htm

Have been through Plockton several times but never stayed over so can't help you there

Ardvreck House, recommended by janisj is a very nice place. I have stayed there too, and the view was lovely. You might also consider Woodland B&B

It is downtown and within walking distance of all the restaurants and the harbor.

While we haven't actually stayed here (our plans changed), the owner was so nice and patient in responding to my queries that I just have to recommend them:

Sorry, should have mentioned that their rate for April 2009 for a double room was going to be 28 GPB per person including breakfast, etc. It's a lovely place and the rate was fabulous considering all the extras like wireless internet and flat screen TV.

I'm not a B&B person, but both the Plockton Inn and the Plockton Hotel are good in their own ways.

We stayed at the Plockton Hotel in June of 2007. It's a nice hotel with a good restaurant. We had 3 people and used a room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa (or something like that, if I recall correctly), and I wished we'd had two rooms (as we did in Inveraray), but other than that, it was fine. I would reccommend it.

Thanks to all - we have a reservation at Ardvreck and checking out your Plockton suggestions.
