UK LHR Immigration - Will I be okay?
#22
I think you will be fine. Last year, my brother met up with me and the rest of the family in Edinburgh. He was flying by himself and I gave him an addresss before he left to put on his landing card. Sure enough he forgot it and his cell phone was not set up to have access across the Atlantic. They questioned him a bit when they noticed it was left blank. He explained he was meeting up with family who were already in Edinburgh. I think they asked him when we arrived and another question or two and let him through. He was so worried he wouldn't be allowed in. He is 10 years older than you but they gave him no trouble. They didn't ask for proof of return either as I know he didn't have that with him. Be nice and honest with them and you should be fine. I've had more trouble with US immgration when returning home than abroad.

Hello everyone - I promised to post back when my trip was over! Had a blast in England!
I was so pleasantly surprised when I landed at LHR and finally met my immigration officer. I brought everything that was mentioned in this thread, in fear of being denied entry. However, the conversation goes as follows:
Me: Hello sir *hands passport*
Officer: Hello, so where are we coming from today?
Me: Seattle, USA
Officer: and what brings you to the UK?
Me: Tourism, visiting friends and sight seeing around London/Windsor areas.
Officer: are you traveling alone?
Me: Yes
Officer: Right *looks at landing card, flips through my new passport* So it's back to the states after 7 days yeah?
Me: That's correct yes, I have a return ticket if you'd like to see that
Officer: *shakes head* That's fine, *stamps passport for 6 months* Enjoy your holiday yeah?
Me: Thank you! (I think the disbelieving excitement on my face showed given the little laugh he had as I walked away)
I was almost a bit disappointed that I didn't get to use any of the documents I brought. However it was a great start to my international travels, glad I didn't have any issues, and thanks to everyone in this thread who helped calm my nerves!
