UK Crisps - great (weirder) new flavours

I see comments from Americans that we have weird crisp (chips) flavours over here - but one company has just launched 6 new varieties invented by customers:

Fish and chips
Onion Bhaji
Cajun Squirrel
Builders Breakfast
crispy duck and Hoisin
Chilli and chocolate

I can say that the fish and chips were very nice (but not really much like fish and chips) and the crispy duck were also quite tasty (but a bit too sweet for my tastes). I want to try them all eventually...

...which do you fancy?

Uh - I think I'll pass on the Cajun squirrel

But the rest sound promising . . . . .

Would love to know the chemicals they use to make these flavors!?
Last time I had a packet of crips/chips in London, prawn flavor, my hands swelled from all the preservatives, flavors and colorings!

ooh - Prawn Cocktail crisps are one of my very favorites (but CW thinks they taste like something unmentionable in polite company )

Cool - whenever we go to the UK we look for new crisp flavours! I like the roast chicken and thyme but would like to try:

Fish and Chips
Builders Breakfast
Crispy Duck and Hoisin
Chili and Chocolate (I actually do put chocolate into my chile - great combo)

My kids and I have tried all of these new flavours.

In our opinion...

1 - Fish'n'Chips. Really has that battered cod taste and the flavour last throughout the bag

2 - Crispy Duck and Hoisin. Sort of fruity, it was good.

3 - Builders Breakfast. Being a fan of Smoky Bacon I was expecting something nice - but this has an overwhelming eggy taste.

4 - Cajun Squirrel - I've eaten the real thing, well - squirrel that is (sauteed in butter, flamed in brandy and simmered in cream - thought it a bit like venison) and didn't think much of these crisps. Kind of like beef flavour with a bit of Cajun spice.

5 - Onion Bhaji. Didn't really think a lot of these, yes, oniony and spicy but not like a real onion bhaji from the Raj Doot Tandoori House in town!

6 - Chilli and Chocolate. These had a chilli afterburn, but were sweet and bitter like dark chocolate. They didn't do it for me at all.

I shall be voting for the Fish'n'Chips flavour.

For Americans who feel alienated by all this - or Britons who regard Walkers flavours as an Official National Treasure:

Walkers is the fourth largest division of the Pepsi Cola corporation. It's essentially Frito Lays driving on the proper side of the road.

Methinks I'll just stick with vinegar and salt--how can it get better than that?

From a previous thread, I am still waiting for a recipe for hedgehog flavoured crisps.

When our British Fodorites posted about them I caught a hedgehog in my garden. I still have it in my freezer and I am desperately waiting for the recipe how to prepare hedgehog flavoured crisps!

Here they are:

And here is the main ingredient:

Do Onion Bhaji taste like Pickled Onion Monster Munch?

If they do, that's what I'm voting for....

<<< Britons who regard Walkers flavours as an Official National Treasure: >>>

Yorkshire Folk would disagree as they know that the best crisps in the UK are Seabrooks

My son has tried all the new flavours and said the Builder's Breakfast was the only packet of crisps in his life that he has been unable to finish.Something to do with the overwhelming egg smell.

I seem to remember having roast lamb and mint sauce flavoured crisps once and tomato ketchup ones weren't bad either. I tend to steer clear of them all now, not knowing what artificial flavourings are used. Anything smoky bacon (or prawn cocktail) flavoured gives me awful heartburn - goodness knows what is in them.
