@flanneruk thanks. i figured after i looked at france and italy's consulate rule and regulations. Unfortunately, i don't have any time off to travel and go to France consulate to apply personally. So this trip maybe not happening til next year. 
Bombed but what else can i do. Unless i get a US citizenship within the few months.

Well, you have time to look at your routing. How about flying Hawaiian Air or Alaska Airlines Maui to Seattle, then British Air Seattle to London Heathrow? Only one stopover and flights of 5 hours and 9 hours -- approximately. And Alaska and BA are partners.
